Hello world! Just thought I’d update you on some new paintings I’ve created. As a heads up, you’re going to see some automobiles in my newer work. Why? Well, I live in Houston now and automobiles are EVERYWHERE. Yeah that’s right, cars…not horses. I lived in California for quite some time and towards the end of my stay there, I found that living in close proximity to everywhere would be wonderfully complimented by getting there via bicycle. When I returned to Texas with this mentality, my friends viewed me as some hippy vegetarian and would make fun of me for wanting to get around via bicycle. So ridiculous right? Almost as ridiculous as assuming all hippy vegetarians get around on a bicycle. The reason they didn’t comprehend my opinion on the matter is because society suggests that we are conflicted by deadlines and to meet those deadlines we must tend to them as soon as possible. THE WHEEL, my friends, it changed everything. At one point getting around on a bicycle was lightning fast as opposed to getting there via foot. Not anymore, amigos. Thus, the automobile from its beginnings to now has become an area of focus for my current work. Automotive transportation and its evolution created by us for us.
